Jenna and Bill | The Gathering Place Wedding

I could instantly tell the chemistry between Jenna and Bill when I first met them for coffee.  Jenna’s eyes lit up when she talked about their love story, from the engagement all the way to the wedding planning.  Bill would chime in every so often, but you could tell that he enjoyed watching the excitement of his bride as she unveiled their details.

Jenna and Bill’s wedding day was like a fairytale wedding, in an ethereal scene of nature.  Both the ceremony and reception were held at the Gathering Place at Darlington Lake.  The ceremony was held directly in front of the lake on one of the most beautiful September days I can remember.  The sun was warm but not hot, and every so often clouds would drift by to remind us they were present.  The reception was held directly up a small hill in the event center, which is open-air and provides spectacular views of the lake.

There were so many beautiful moments that took place between Jenna and Bill, but one of my all-time favorites was watching them during their first dance.  They started off by romantically swaying to the music, then out of the blue Bill would turn, dip, and cradle-twirl Jenna, as the wispy part of her train flowed behind.  As Jenna was gently placed back onto the ground, she and Bill would sing and sway to the music as if nobody else was present.  As if the first dance spoke directly about their beautiful relationship: tons of romance, with intermittent touches of excitement and spontaneity.
