The Experience
Engagement sessions are one of the most fun and relaxed ways to capture your personality as a couple! Being engaged is an exciting stage in your lives, and documenting it provides you with a comprehensive reflection of the love that you have for each other. It is also a great way for me to get to know you prior to your wedding day!
Once you book your engagement session, we begin by discussing the season in which you’d like the session to take place. Each season has its own beauty: whether the soft pastels of spring, the golden hours of summer, the vibrant palette of autumn, or the whimsical white of winter.
We photograph at the location of your choice, and if you are unsure of a location, I am more than happy to recommend a few of my favorite spots based on your scenery preferences! Outfit changes are encouraged, and if you’d like tips on what to wear, I will send inspirational outfit ideas based on which season the session will take place.
I want your engagement images to capture your essence, so incorporating anything that has meaning to you creates images that are personal. If you enjoy riding bicycles together- let’s get a few pictures of you on your bikes! If you enjoy cuddling with your pets, let’s take some pictures of you showing them some love (a bonus for me, because I love animals!) When you look at your engagement images, the “day-in-the-life”
ones beautifully depict your unique relationship together.
On the day of your session, I lend guidance for fun and flattering posing, so you don’t feel like you have to figure it out yourself. I want your images to look natural, so my suggestions are open for your interpretation, which results in more candid moments.
If either of you don’t feel comfortable in front of the camera, that’s not a problem! Many people feel this way (after all, it isn’t every day that you have a camera following you around!) I talk to you throughout the session, get to know you, and throw in some (hopefully funny) jokes and stories about myself. This way, you also get to know me. You will feel at ease after hearing a few clicks of the camera. In a blink, the session will be over, and you will realize how much fun it was! And, excitedly anticipate seeing the end result! .
