The day that I met Kate and Christian, they introduced me to a lovely little Colombian cafe in the South Side called Encanto Cafe (the iced matcha latte with the added strawberry puree is delightful!) This was the perfect meeting spot, being that Christian is from Colombia!
As we talked, I learned about how they met (they were both in a trail running club), and the cultural touches that they were planning to feature at their wedding. They were incredibly excited to bring pieces of their heritage into their special day, for example, Kate’s family has an Italian background, so Kate and Christian decided to serve gelato for dessert on their wedding day. And they hired a Colombian DJ for the reception, who kept the party thriving by incorporating Latin dance music into the playlist!
Kate and Christian’s family traveled from near and far to be a part of their celebration. Many of Christian’s relatives traveled from Colombia! It was a beautiful wedding, on a beautiful fall day. And, the icing on the cake was that Kate and Christian baked in enough creative picture-taking time to travel around the city and grab photos in some iconic spots!
