Kristen and Andrew | George Washington Hotel Wedding

“I’m usually an organized person, I don’t know why not today!” Kristen says to me as she is getting ready for her wedding day. I think she said this in response to the fact that we were running *maybe* only 5 minutes late according to our timeline. As a wedding vendor, we know and come to expect that it is basically the norm for a wedding day to run incredibly late, so only 5 minutes late is a welcome blessing!

Kristen and Andrew are a fun and laid-back couple, and at the same time are so polished and flawless looking on their wedding day! They have a love for their two rescued pups (anyone that is an animal lover is a friend of mine!) and I was thrilled to hear that we would be taking pictures with these pups, who were also dressed to the nines, after the ceremony.

The look on Andrew’s face when he first sees Kristen in her wedding dress says it all. I couldn’t have waived a magic wand to create a more emotional and sweet moment between these two. The little moments of affection between Kristen and Andrew were my favorite- the way he tightly grasped her hand as they walked together, or the way that she giggled when he hugged her and brought her close to him. So in love.

Amanda and Jordan | The Grand Estate at Hidden Acres Wedding

I remember first meeting Amanda and her mother, it was a beautiful fall day, and we sat down for coffee and discussed what Amanda and Jordan had planned for their wedding. What I loved most about Amanda from our initial conversation all the way through to her wedding day was her attention to detail, and how absolutely excited she was to carry out such a personal and beautiful vision for her and Jordan’s special day.

It wasn’t just the attention to detail that made Amanda and Jordan’s wedding so beautiful, it was the laughter, the smiles between them both, and how much they enjoyed spending the day with their loved friends and family. The weather had called for heavy rain, and by some miracle, the rain only occurred right before the ceremony. The sun pushed it passed us so we could have the most spectacular sunny and warm day.

It was an extra special treat for us to work with some of our favorite “friendors” (friend vendors)- Vintage Alley Rentals supplied the most beautiful soft pink sofa as a backdrop for our pictures! From start to finish, every emotion and detail of Amanda and Jordan’s wedding was meaningful and beautiful. Take a look to see what I mean…

Callan and Brandon- City Engagement Session

What are the odds that I am able to photograph somebody that grew up in the same town as me?! Callan and I both grew up in Murrysville, and we reconnected a few years ago when we photographed her lovely sister’s wedding (hi, Brittany and Dan!) And now, it is Callan and Brandon’s turn! This beautiful couple is getting married in Savannah, Georgia, probably one of the most swoon-worthy destinations.

Callan and Brandon knew each other in high school, but it wasn’t until years later that they started dating and are now headed down the aisle. What I love most about this couple is, not only how magazine gorgeous they are, but also how they make each other laugh. You can tell how much fun they have together, it radiates in these photos! Here are a few of my favorites from their downtown engagement session…

Kelsey and Mike | South Hills Country Club Wedding

“It is most important that you photograph the moments of us laughing and having fun with our friends and family,” Kelsey tells me in the days leading up to her and Mike’s wedding. I love when the bride and groom value the moments in between, the moments that reflect the precious relationship that exists between them and every guest that attends their wedding.

There was not one shortage of this type of moment for Kelsey and Mike- this is legitimately one of the only couples we have photographed that are so full of fun and optimism, that smiling is their natural expression. And they wear it well! Their smiles are completely contagious- by the end of the night, the corners of my mouth hurt because I had apparently been smiling all day just watching these two together.

Just look how sweet they are! Certainly best friends, it is lovely to witness the union of two people who clearly make each other so incredibly happy. Whether they are holding hands, hugging, or even standing next to one another, the joy these two have together is absolutely inspiring.

Carissa and Craig | Southpointe Golf Club Wedding

“It’s just another day. It’s just another day…” Carissa responds to me after we enter her getting ready room and I ask her how she’s feeling on her wedding day. Obviously, it really wasn’t just another day, it was the most fantastic day of her life and she absolutely knew it, but by saying these words, she was trying to remain in a zen-like state so she could manage the utter excitement that she felt that day! Pretty smart tactic, if you ask me. (I actually used this tactic the week following her wedding when I was super anxious about something that I can’t even remember what… and it really helped to calm me!)

Like I said though, Carissa knew just how fantastic this day was going to be, and you could tell she couldn’t wait to speed down that aisle and marry the love of her life. She was glowing from the start to the finish that day, and you could tell how happy Craig was, too, behind his gentle and calm demeanor. Craig truly makes Carissa’s eyes sparkle- they have from the very day she met him at the age of 16- and all of these years later, the love and romance is just as perfect and strong as it was from day one. It is truly amazing and inspiring to hear the back story of a couple who meet at a young age, knew instantly that they would marry each other, and then experience them carry through with this promise with flying colors. There are true soul mates in this world. Carissa and Craig are a prime example.
