Kyra and Kevin | City Engagement Session

I just love city engagement sessions. The cosmopolitan vibe, the skyline, the action downtown. So naturally, when one of my couples wants to photograph their engagement session downtown, I jump at the chance! What makes the session even better is the opportunity I have to get to know them as we photograph… and then realize how many things we have in common!

Kyra and Kevin love the Pittsburgh Penguins, EDM Music (YES!!!), and craft beer. In fact, when Kevin goes out, he never orders the same beer twice- just so he can experience different beers each time! He and Barry will get along very well!

This couple is so smitten with each other, I never had to tell them to snuggle in and act cute together. Kyra and Kevin have actually known each other since they were little (Kyra- correct me if I’m wrong, but you said that your first picture together was in kindergarten, right?!) It was Halloween, and their first picture together was in their costumes! I told them that next Halloween, they need to recreate that Halloween picture again since Kyra was a bride (and she can wear her actual wedding dress!)

Kyra and Kevin are getting married in August next year, and we can’t wait to be a part of their day! Here are some of my favorites from their engagement session…

Krystena and Justin | City Engagement Session

“Can we take some pictures as we eat ice cream?” Krystena asks me as she, Justin and I walk around the Cultural District downtown for their engagement session. “Justin eats ice cream every single day, and it is just really us.”

Of course I was completely thrilled to photograph this sweet couple as they shared their ice cream with each other- which slightly backfired because it was such a hot fall day… the ice cream melted in a matter of seconds! But they ate fast, and it was so cute to capture them laughing and sneaking kisses in between licks.

We photographed all around town for their engagement session- at some of my favorite spots in the Cultural District, the Convention Center, with the bridges, and in Market Square, to name a few! I loved watching them just be them. Every so often, Justin would wrap his arms around Krystena, and they would hug tightly or slow dance together.

Krystena and Justin are getting married in July of next year at the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden, and we can’t wait for their day!

Hannah’s Strip District Senior Session

I am honestly just blown away at this lovely senior, Hannah, her fun personality, and photogenic smile. Hannah spent a lot of time in the city as she grew up, which is why she wanted an urban and metropolitan backdrop for her senior pictures. Just look at the bright eyes and long locks on this girl! She is beautiful! I especially love that she chose to add a little bit of edge with the bold red lip for one of her outfits. Here are just a few of the *many* amazing images from her senior session!

Christy and Dan | The Event Center at the Waterworks Wedding

Under a bright blue sky and brilliant fall day, we walk into the Holy Family Church, where Christy and Dan’s wedding ceremony took place. We had quickly visited Christy’s hotel room for a few pictures prior to heading to the church, and Christy decided to put on her dress at the church- ironically in a room directly below the nave, where Dan and his groomsmen were also completing their finishing touches and pinning their boutonnieres.

As Christy put on her dress, all of the bridesmaids watched, snapping intermittent pictures on their cell phones, in awe of the beautiful Christy in her wedding dress. As Christy’s veil was tucked into her hair, her sister turned away, trying to hold back the happy tears. The room was filled with love and excitement, truly a beautiful atmosphere to be a part of.

Watching Christy and Dan together throughout the day was like watching two best friends, immersing themselves in they love they have for each other, and with friends and family. One of my favorite moments of the day was watching their introduction into the reception- after immediately stepping onto the dance floor, Dan swooped Christy up into his arms and twirled her around and around, while confetti was tossed about them. Watching them sing to each other as they swayed to their first dance song was incredibly sweet! They had one of the most hysterical twists to the garter toss- I won’t ruin the surprise, but scroll down to see what Dan pulled off of Christy’s leg besides the garter!

Nicole and Chris | Hartwood Acres Engagement Session

Laughter, sweetness, and a ton of romance; these are the first few things I think of when it comes to the perfect relationship of Nicole and Chris. The way that Chris makes Nicole smile will just melt your heart when you see these pictures! I love the back story of how they met- Chris and Nicole had been eyeing each other at the gym, and soon after Chris approached Nicole and commented on her Game of Thrones shirt that she was wearing that day. When they realized how many things they had in common besides the gym, well, the cards just naturally fell into place. And these two are electric together! It was so tough to pick which pictures to post on the blog! Here are some of my favorites!
