Meghan and Lance | Hilton Garden Inn Southpointe Wedding

Her sleek and elegant wedding dress floated around the dance floor as she was being twirled and dipped throughout their flawlessly executed first dance. Meghan and Lance had a choreographed dance, and, being the first of many collaborative moments after becoming Mr. and Mrs., they passed with flying colors. It was incredibly endearing to watch them sing their first dance song together, to see their smiles shine during a spin or a dip, and also to see them count together to align their dancing steps.

Every step of the day was chock-full of endearing and fun moments. Whether is was witnessing her father’s expression as she wowed him during her reveal, seeing the bridesmaids’ emotions of amazement and happy tears after first seeing Meghan in her dress, watching Lance double over in laughter when what he thought was the first look ended up being his friend in a wedding dress instead of Meghan, or watching Lance smile from ear to ear once he actually saw Meghan during the real first look.

Sandi and Matt | Heinz History Center Wedding

They met in a college biology class. They love to travel. Family is their priority. They love animals and want to own a pup in the near future. Matt and Sandi are one of the most grounded, kind and genuine couples that we have ever had the pleasure of photographing.

Matt and Sandi wanted to do a first look on Mt. Washington, with the beautiful city skyline as their backdrop. You would never know that there was an audience of people watching them from the street, the way that these two can tune out the world and tune into each other is so romantic! When they look at each other, it is like a story is being told without words. The feelings of endearment, respect, care, and gentleness are so clearly emoted. And when Sandi is handed off to Matt in the ceremony, that moment made my heart swell. Forever capture. You will see what I mean if you scroll through their images!

Sarah and Josh | Circuit Center Wedding

Eleven bridesmaids, eleven groomsmen, one flower girl, and one ring bearer. This total count just goes to show how important family and friends are to Sarah and Josh; they wanted to have all of these loved ones by their side on their wedding day.

Their wedding day was full of so much love and laughter! There are numerous moments that stick out to me, I really can’t pick a favorite! Maybe it was Josh’s endearing look of excitement as he first saw Sarah coming down the aisle (at the same time, Josh’s Dad was looking back at Josh because he was excited to see his son’s reaction). Or maybe it was Sarah dancing with her bridesmaids to the song Barbie Girl at the end of the night. Or maybe it was the happy tears that turned to loud roars of laughter during the welcome speech and toasts.

It was truly a beautiful day, and we couldn’t be any happier for this sweet couple! Speaking of sweet, Sarah’s mother made most of the cookies on the cookie table, and they were some of the best we’ve tasted!

Deidra and Vince | Hyatt House Southside Wedding

You know that it is going to be a good day when you enter the getting ready room, and the electronic dance version of the song “Sweet Caroline” is blaring from the speakers (who knew there was a dance version of that song?!!) Deidra and the bridesmaids turned up the volume just in time for the chorus to kick in. Naturally, everyone starting dancing and singing along! What a tremendously fun bunch of ladies!

This scene set the tone for Deidra and Vince’s wedding day; it was light-hearted, joyful, love-laden, and incredibly moving. One of the things that I love most about Deidra and Vince is that they are such genuine people with so much love and respect for each other. It is apparent even in the smallest of gestures, like how they look at each other when the other is talking, or how they hold hands. They are incredibly caring; the type of people who naturally connect with others and make them feel important, only if they just met them once.

These sentiments are also reflected by their friends and family; the ceremony readings, vows, first dance, parent dances, and toasts had just about every single guest in (happy) tears at some point during the evening. It was truly a beautiful day for a beautiful couple.

Sandi & Matt | Engagement Session

Photographing in and around the city is my favorite. I don’t think that I could ever get sick of our skyline, especially on warm summer nights, when sun bursts slow to sunset. So, when Matt and Sandi wanted to photograph their engagement session on the riverwalk and also at the North Shore’s Allegheny Commons Park, I was pretty elated!

This sweet couple met in a college lab class. Although they were first friends, one thing led to the next, and their friendship evolved into romance. As we photographed, I learned that we have a lot in common; they love animals (they are in anticipation of owning a dog) and they also love to travel! What I love most about this couple is how relaxed and genuine they are. They are getting married in July at the Heinz History Center, and we are waiting in anticipation for their wedding day!
